    SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID OPPORTUNITIES AT GGSIPU

    For many Indian students, GGSIPU is an expensive university. But if someone wishes to continue their education at IPU but lacks the funds, they can apply for scholarships through GGSIPU. There is no need to wait in long lines to apply for scholarships because the process and necessary forms are available online. 

    The National Scholarship Portal is the website where you may fill out your application for a scholarship, whether you are renewing one or applying for one for the first time nationwide portal for scholarships Scholarships in GGSIPU are available through the National Scholarship Portal  You can examine the central programmes offered by various Ministries and Departments of the Indian Government, as well as UGC/AICTE, for IPU.

    1. MERI – CUM- MEANS LINKED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SCHEME

    It is a policy of the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi that students get access to high-quality higher education provided by Delhi State universities irrespective of their caste, creed, economic background or gender. It eases the burden on students by providing the tuition fee reimbursement under the aegis of  Delhi Higher Education Aid Trust. 

    OBJECTIVE OF THE SCHEME

    1. To extend financial assistance to the meritorious and needy students pursuing higher education in NCT of Delhi.
    2. Under this scheme DHE, GNCTD will fully or partially reimburse the tuition fee paid by the students. 
    3. The extend of reimbursement will be: 
    • 100% tuition fee of meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections I.e. wards of parent/s who are beneficiaries and possess relevant card issued under National Food Security Scheme 
    • 50% of the tuition fee to meritorious students having annual family income up to Rs. 2.50 Lakh and not covered under the National  Food Security Scheme
    • 25% reimbursement of tuition fee to meritorious students having annual  income above Rs. 2.50 Lakh but below Rs. 6 lakh. 

     

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 

    • The student should have been enrolled for an undergraduate programme in any of the Delhi State Public Universities or colleges/ institutes affiliated to Delhi State Public Universities. 
    • The student should fulfill the income/economic and academic performance criteria as specified for each category mentioned below:

     

    ELIGIBILTY 

    (Gross Annual Family Income of Student from all Sources)

    Qualifying Aggregate Percentage (Marks in All Subjects) Percentage of Financial Assistance
    Category 1 – Beneficiary under National Food Security Scheme & posses the card issued under the scheme 60% 100%
    Category 2 – Not covered under category 1 but whose family income is upto Rs. 2.50 Lakh p.a. 60% 50%
    Category 3 – Family income above Rs. 2.50 Lakh p.a. but not exceeding Rs. 6Lakh p.a. 60% 25%

     

    2. ECONOMICALLY WEAKER  SECTION SCHEME  

    University has this scheme to grant financial assistance to the students of the University belonging to EWS of the society. 

    The  maximum limit of financial assistance given to an applicant will not be more than Rs. 50000/- in an academic session.

     

    OBJECTIVE 

    To enhance the accessibility to the students belonging to the Economically Weaker Section of the society in Higher Education. 

    ELIGIBILTY CONDITIONS

    • The applicant should be a regular student of the university. 
    • The income of the family from all sources to which the applicant belongs should not be more than Rs. 2,50,000/- per annum.
    • The applicant/applicant’s family should hold a family Income Certificate issued by the SDM or any other officer authorized in this behalf by the revenue department. 
    • An applicant availing any kind of financial assistance or scholarship from any other sources of the Government or otherwise shall be eligible for grant of financial assistance. However, in all cases the amount of financial assistance being availed by the applicant from other sources shall be deducted from the total amount of financial assistance recommended by the committee under the EWS Scheme. 

     

    3. 2021 HANA SCHOLARSHIP 

    It is given by Hana Nanum Foundation every year to the students under the following categories : 

    • Meritorious students who are facing difficulty in paying tuition fee due to financial instability. 
    • Meritorious disabled students
    • Exemplary students with good grades.

     

    DOCUMENTAL REQUIREMENTS 

    • Application for Scholarship
    • Letter of Recommendation
    • Documents to prove financial status
    • Documents related to college students 

    Diversity is crucial to bringing various thoughts, viewpoints, experiences, and individuals together at any university. The fact that just a small portion of society receives a top-notch education is unfair. Scholarships and Financial aids work to bridge this gap and provide equal access to higher education for all groups.
