GGSIPU COUNSELING: SPOT ROUNDJune 27, 2023

IPU Spot Round is distinct from Management Quota and Sliding Round, both of which are offline processes used by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) to fill open seats after the first, second, and third rounds of online counselling for programmes and courses like BBA, BCA, MBA, MCA, BA/BBA LLB, BAJMC (BA JMC), B.Ed, B.Com, B.Tech and LE B.Tech, among others.

All students who sat for the Common Entrance Test (CET) and passed are eligible to participate in the IPU Spot Round. Even those students who were given a seat at any college in Rounds 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or sliding and wish to switch to a different college, stream, or shift may still participate.

IP University has made two categories of students eligible for the admission under Spot Round in IPU, these are:

    1. ADMITTED AND REPORTED — A seat has been assigned to a student who wants to switch their college, stream, or shift.
    2. NOT ADMITTED — students who have not paid a part-time academic fee, enrolled, or been assigned a seat.

    ADMITTED AND REPORTED STUDENTS

Students who have been admitted and reported are those who have received a college assignment in the first, second, third, or sliding round and who have also paid the part-time academic fee (Rs. 40000). Such individuals are eligible to compete in the Spot Round for a shift, change of college, or both.

    NOT ADMITTED STUDENTS

Students who passed the CET Exam but did not register, report, receive a college assignment in the first, second, third, or sliding round, withdraw their admission request, or fail to pay the part-time academic fee after receiving a college assignment in any of the rounds are not admitted.

THE PROCEDURE OF SPOT ROUND COUNSELLING FOR ADMITTED AND REPORTED STUDENTS

After paying the part academic fee and the non-refundable transfer fee (a combined total of Rs. 5000), students who were allotted a college in the first, second, third, or sliding round and who now want to switch to a different college, stream, or shift can participate in the spot round. On the day of the offline Spot Round Counselling at the designated centre, the transfer and participation fees must be paid in one Demand Draft (DD) made out to the "Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University."

THE PROCEDURE OF SPOT ROUND COUNSELLING FOR NOT ADMITTED STUDENTS

Students who passed the Common Entrance Test (CET) and were not assigned to a college in any of the rounds, as well as those who did not pay the part-time academic fee or register for the online counselling process, are eligible to take part in the spot round. Such an applicant must pay the Academic Part price (Rs. 40000) and the non-refundable Spot Round Participation price (Rs. 2000) in one Demand Draught (DD) made payable to the "Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University" on the day of the offline Spot Round Counselling at the designated centre.
